5 tips for running a successful education business [2-min read]

What are the top 5 things I wish I'd known before starting my own education business? 

If you’ve been thinking of leaving teaching to set up your own business, or perhaps to start a side-hustle, then these tips are ideal for you!

1. Figure out how and when you want to work - Do you love being surrounded by lots of people or would you prefer to work on your own? Do you want to work 9-5 Mon-Fri or do you want to be flexible and/or part-time
2. Find your niche - Who do you want to work with? Narrow it down, find a gap in the market, figure out if this is something that people actually want/need and will pay for!
3. Everything takes time and patience! - Building up a client base, social media presence, email list, etc takes time! Most “overnight successes” have been working hard for years before they get their big breakthrough.
4. Don't be afraid to invest in yourself - Join networking groups, pay for coaching/ mentoring, pay for help such as a virtual assistant/ website designer/ brand photographer. Invest in digital tools - not just the free versions!
5. Be prepared to do some inner work - Running a business will teach you so much about yourself and what you’re capable of! Read self-improvement books, listen to podcasts, start a journal, and maybe even have some counselling.
